Plasma is definitely one of the best ways to go if you re cutting shapes from plate. When cutting do not close shut the blade completely on the sheet it ll curl the edge of metal. A soft wood backer will allow for the chisel to pass through more easily by providing support for the metal. Place a piece of 3 4 inch thick plywood flat on the floor.
